Sick, yet again.

Being Sick Sucks

My cough has gotten worse since it popped back up last Thursday. It's pretty bad as it keeps me up at nights well past 4:00 am.

I think I'm getting better now.

Healthy Choice "Solos" - Meal for the lonely

Last week, I saw a Healthy Choice "Solos" macaroni and cheese dinner in the freezer aisle. The "Solos" label must be the company's positive alternative to "People who eat this meal will die alone, lives unfulfilled". Or maybe the latter just wouldn't fit on the label.

The War Continues; Sick in Detroit

The war with Mr. Ng goes on

So I bought a wireless router this week. I figured it was time to jump on the bandwagon and follow in the footsteps of Kev.

My setup was infinitely easier--10 minutes and I was rolling.

As they say, "Everything is easier on a mac."

I will end up giving my old router to Jen's family.

Sick in Detroit

I'm writing this blog in Detroit right now. Actually, I'm in Auburn Hills, MI, about 20 minutes outside of Detroit. Two big meetings tomorrow (with a third meeting a possibility). Hopefully, I can make the 2:00 PM train out of Windsor, but if not, I will fly back.

Sigh.

I don't mind being in Detroit, but these meetings are killing me. It takes 9 hours to travel between here and Downtown, TO--for about 3 hours in meetings. Stupid.

My cough is back.

1-year Anniversary; Finances

Pixelsandwidgets 1-Year bash!

I wish there was something more interesting to write about, but there really isn't. I could talk about my aspirations to be a comic book superhero, or how this weekend I worked on OnX stuff, but I digress.

So I renewed my Domain and Webhost again.

I'll try to do a refresh of my site.

I got a call from from the CanStage Theatre Company yesterday. For those of you not in the loop, Jen and I have a membership at the CanStage (we watch live theatrical plays). They wanted me to donate.

I had to politely, but stearnly say, "No, but I've done all my donating for this year." Too bad, because RBC was matching every dollar donated.

Boy, did I feel like a heel.

In 2002, I donated $250 CDN to the United Way, and $100 to my old UofW Faculty.

I really don't feel comfortable donating any more.

For the next few months, I'll be trying to save up for my RRSP contribution, among other things.

The week is almost over.

So close, yet so far.

Hi all,

I've had a pretty difficult week at work. Still trying to catch up as I type this blog.

Hmm, congratulations out to Jen's little brother, Benjamin for landing a job at Pharmacia for his co-op work term.

Jen is back this weekend. So I'll be spending some time with her.

Motor City!

In Detroit

Took the 7:00 AM train with Brian (Software Architect) and George (Project Manager) from Union Station (Downtown TO) to Windsor. Crossed the border in a rented car at about 11:45 PM.

Got to the Hotel at 12:15 AM.

Big presentation tomorrow for Sign off on one of the major deliverables that I am working on for DaimlerChrysler.

Wish me luck.

Spending time with the Mom

Spending time with my Mom

Now that it is pretty much official that my mom won't be working anymore, I decided to spend some time with her this afternoon.

We watched TV together. A&E had their original telefilm, "Jane Austen's Emma" on in the afternoon. My mom and I watched it.

It wasn't the greatest expression in Mother-Son relations, but sometimes I feel that my mom is kind of lonely right now. What does she do at home when all of us are at work?

I guess work is such an important part of your life, you know? Now that my mom isn't working any more, I think she's struggling with defining her sense of purpose now.

Work defines who we are.

That's friggin' scary.

So I worry about my mom.

When spring hits, I'm going to work with her to get the garden up to snuff.

Moving Coasters: The Movie.

It's no Lord of the Rings, but it's a start

This is a proof of concept movie called Moving Coasters.

This is an image of the Moving Coasters Movie
Moving Coasters Movie [Quicktime] [16 sec] [812 KB]

You'll need Apple Quicktime to view the movie.

It's a stop motion animation film I made with my DV cam. It took a total of 25 Minutes to film.

I'm looking towards a more elaborate project.

Does anyone have any old G.I. J.O.E's?

Hot Flashes!

I'm only 25 and I'm having hot flashes

So for the past week and a half, I haven't been sleeping very well.

It basically goes like this: I go to bed and at 5 am I wake up. I wake up because I'm burning hot! I can't go back to bed because I'm so hot, I'm sweating. It's like I have hot flashes.

Jen thinks I'm having Sympathy Menopause.

My boss thinks it's stress.

So I wake up 5 am with nothing to do. So I work.

Weird.

Jen is staying in Vancouver, recovering from the cold that I have given her.

So it's a weekend by myself.

Bought & Wants

I am a Geek

Bought: 80 GB External Firewire Harddrive - $ 411 CDN.

Want: New Apple Hardware - Powerbook 12" G4

I'm horrible.

I've been trying to convince myself that the harddrive is for Jen, because I need the space to edit her dance routine, but who am I kidding?

It's for me.

I'm almost as bad as Kevin.

Is that an 8-ball in your pocket?

What is that from Kevin's Pants?

I'll let the world puzzle about how this happened.

Kevin has a surprise in his pocket

To NY and Back; Shrek Party for the New Year

I love NYC

Hey all,

My trip to New York was a success. I saw a lot of stuff, lost a lot of sleep, and had a pretty cool time.

The football game was awesome--absolutely amazing.

I seemed to have caught a cold though.

New Year's Eve - Shrek party

It's funny, but I realise that the girls are just like guys when it comes to video games. Take for instance Shrek Party - a four player game on the PS2 that is geared towards children.

The girls were crazy--way too intense.
